Making pillows - something to keep
The kids were desperate for something to keep, since we had decided that Julie would get the completed quilt. We decided on pieced pillows. I gave the kids 8 4" squares to decorate, and ironed their faces on one square for the middle. They each got to choose a from my stash for their borders - they weren't allowed to duplicate each other (which they were gonna do) so they were all unique in design and border.
Here's David's all pieced.

| This is one of my favorite pictures - the kids have just unbounded joy stuffing the pillows with the stuffing. This pic is worth looking at the close up for sure, in my opinion.
